MOH receives 800,000 AstraZeneca from Hungary

The government of Hungary has supplied Ghana with eight hundred thousand (800,000) doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The vaccines were received by the Deputy Minister for Health, Hon. Mahama Asei Seini on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.

This donation is in line with the government of Hungary’s drive to support Ghana’s vaccination programme.

The government of Ghana is poised at vaccinating twenty (20) million of its adult population by the end of the year 2021.

As of November 10, 7.6% of Ghana’s adult population which constitutes 2, 352,125 persons had received at least one dose while 2.7% constituting 835,989 persons have been fully vaccinated.

Donations of vaccines have so far come from the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Norway, Germany, and Hungary.

So far, Ghana has received Moderna, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Sputnik V, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
