MLNR: GHc11K Donated Toward Construction Of Appiatse Community

A total amount of eleven thousand cedis (GHc11,000) has been donated to the Appiatse Support Fund by the Accra Mining Network (AMN) and a Canadian voluntary organisation, Political Zone, the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has said.

AMN gave out six thousand cedis (GHc6,00) while the Political Zone gave out five thousand cedis (5,000).

The donations were made on May 25, 2022, by General Secretary of AMN, Madam Ellen Korley, and the leader of the delegation from Political Zone, Hopeson Adorye, MLNR relayed.

Adorye said their donation is a compilation of contributions from people from all walks of life on Facebook who were informed about the incident through their lead Volunteer, Mr. Felix Appiah Korang, a political commentator based in Canada.

He added that “our contribution may be small, but I believe that the quantum does not really matter, what matters is the hearts it comes from and these people who gave were really touched to give.”

The donations were received by the Chairperson of the Committee, Rev. Dr. Joyce Aryee, MLNR said.

She also mentioned that latest by June this year, the Committee will put out new strategies to solicit more funds for the Reconstruction Implementation Committee to start their work, MLNR reports.
