Man Arrested For Kidnapping

A young man has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a 5-year-old female child at Patase, suburb of Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region.
The suspect has been identified as Micheal Akwasi Agyemang, aged 24.
According to the Ashanti Regional Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ahianyo Godwin, the Regional Information Command Centre on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, had an information that a certain young man has attempted to kidnap a young Girl and being lynched.
“A Police Patrol team was dispatched to the scene and met the suspect.
He was rescued and brought to the Regional Criminal Investigation Department for questioning”, he added.
“The suspect during questioning admitted the offense and disclosed that one Eric contacted him for the kidnapping.
However, he could not lead the Police to arrest the said Eric so he has been detained to assist the Police in investigations”, the Police Officer said.
The victim has been handed over to her mother.
