Last Year’s OCRC Was Successful Despite Covid Threat

As part of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation’s Educational programs, is the Otumfuo Community Reading Challenge (OCRC).

This educational programme aims to increase pupils’ interest in reading in both English and Twi, Ghana’s prevalent indigenous dialect.

Capacity Building and Knowledge Management Officer of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation, Mr. Kwabena Owusu Ababio has disclosed that last year’s competition was successful despite the threat of the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to him, this has rejuvenated the staff to organize a special one as this year’s edition comes off soon.

According to him, it was needful to make the programme a community-based one due to difficulty in Covid19 safety protocols compliance on the path of students.

He stated that, interested students were selected from various schools based on their community of residence. Out of which the Foundation had sixty communities to compete.
