Kumasi Traditional Council Upset Over Sanitation Shortfalls In Kumasi

The Kumasi Traditional Council led by Bantamahene, Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI, has expressed their displeasure over the rate of sanitation shortfalls in the Ashanti Regional Capital, Kumasi.

They made their worries known on Thursday, September 22, 2022, during the Council meeting at Manhyia Palace concerning measures to adopt to curb Kumasi sanitation challenges and menace.

The Council meeting invited the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly(KMA) Coordinating Director, Mr. Akuamoah Boateng and other technocrat members from Environmental department, Zoomlion Company staffs, Waste Management department, and other members of the Assembly who formed part of the sanitation stakeholders in Kumasi.

According to Bantamahene, Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI, filth contributes various diseases in the country which they will not sit aloof on the rate filth are taking over the City.

On his part, the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly(KMA )Coordinating Director, Mr. Akuamoah Boateng asserted the concerns raised by the Kumasi Traditional Council on the sanitation deficit in Kumasi.

Mr. Boateng proposed to the Council to constitute a joint committee from the Council and the Assembly to take on the sanitation challenges as matter of urgency concerning appropriate efforts to eradicate filth from the Regional Capital, Kumasi.
