Koku Ayidoho Threatens Court Action Against NDC

Former Deputy Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Ayidoho has made known his intention to seek justice in a court of law over his alleged expulsion from the NDC.

The former Deputy Secretary of the NDC was expelled from the NDC through a letter on July 27, 2021, for engaging in misconduct and anti-party behaviour.

The General Secretary of the Party, Johnson Asiedu-Nketiah, said in a media interview that Mr. Ayidoho was given the opportunity for a fair hearing but he failed to submit himself thereby his expulsion.
Mr. Ayidoho in a response to the alleged expulsion said he had no track record of indiscipline and had remained loyal to the party.

He denied ever being invited by the NDC’s disciplinary committee.

“I came with the NDC’s Constitution and Ghana’s Constitution. This constitution (1992 Constitution of Ghana) guarantees civil legal rights and my citizenship and this one (the NDC’s constitution) guarantees me my membership of the NDC. That organization (NDC) is a voluntary organization. So talking about the principle of natural justice, the man must be given the right and privilege to hearing”, he said.

He added that “you must give a man fair hearing before imposing judgment on him. I want to pick up all the internal architecture in the party. I have gone through the general process. That failing, I will have to end up in court.”

“I was going to ignore it because the so called suspension is in the airwaves. Nobody gave me a formal suspension. And I don’t comment to rumours and I don’t respond to rumours. They said they have suspended a certain Koku Ayidoho so it’s not me. Nobody has given me a letter. As for the so called disciplinary committee, where did they send for me?

He noted that there has not been any response to his letter and so he is still a member of the NDC.
