KMA Condemns Abuse Of Trader By Staff

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has condemned the abuse of a trader at Adum by one of the Assembly’s staff.

A video circulating on social media features the KMA staff in a police assistant outfit kicking the trader while she laid on the ground.

The cause of the altercation is not known yet.

In a statement signed by the Metropolitan Coordinating Director, Kwadwo Akuamoah Boateng, KMA said, “Management condemns that act and dissociates itself from such an unwarranted behaviour”.

It added that the Assembly is not in support of such behaviours therefore it has in place a code of conduct to regulate the actions of its staff members.

It also announced a committee will be set up to investigate the incident.

“Meanwhile, management has taken a decision to set up a committee to look into the matter to enable us to apply the appropriate sanctions.”
