Kenyatta, Ruto Plan Towards Power Transition

The President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta has had a conversation with the vice president who is also the president-elect of Kenya, William Ruto.

This was revealed by Ruto in a tweet on September 7, 2022.

The conversation, according to the vice president, centred on the election and transition of government.

He revealed the discussion was done through a phone call.

“I had a telephone conversation with my boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta. We discussed the just concluded General Election and the transition as envisaged by our democratic tradition and practice”, the tweet read.

He, however, failed to state the one who placed the call.

But on Monday, Kenyatta who had endorsed the opposition presidnetial candidate, Raila Odinga over his vice president, accepted the Supreme Court ruling on the presidential dispute.

“On keeping the pledge that I made on upholding the rule of law when I took the Oath of Office, I commit to executing the orders of this court to the letter”, he said.
