MTN Resolves Technical Challenges Which Caused Wednesday’s Glitch

A cross-section of customers of telecommunication company MTN experienced glitches in some services provided by the company yesterday.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Company apologised to customers and said the glitches in accessing voice and Mobile Money (MoMo) services were due to a technical challenge. It added that its engineers were working to resolve it.

In a follow-up statement on Thursday, September 14, the company said the challenge had been resolved.

“Kindly be informed that the technical challenges experienced with our Voice and MoMo services on the 13th of September 2023 have been resolved,” a part of the statement said before appreciating the patience of its subscribers.

On Wednesday, some MTN subscribers had their networks jammed.

One user told opemsuo.com he couldn’t buy an internet bundle for a virtual meeting but received an SMS from the company later apologizing.

Another subscriber said attempts to reach a friend around 9 p.m. were hampered thrice before it went through on the fourth attempt. He said a passenger he boarded the same vehicle with complained about difficulties in reaching someone and had to restart his phone before it went through.

It is unknown if the company will compensate victims of the glitches as their two statements released in the past hours failed to mention any measure like that.
