Juaben MP Ama Pomaah is Heartless person – NPP Delegates claim

Some delegates of the governing New Patrotic Party (NPP) in the Juaben Constituency in the Ashanti Region have threatened to vote against the incumbent Member of Parliment (MP) for the area, Hon. Ama Pomaa Ando in the party’s upcoming parliamentary primaries.
This is after the MP’s strong contender in the race, one Francis Owusu Akyaw has made donation of flat-screen television set to Pinanase Police station in the municipality and other kind gesture to some schools there.
“Even our MP who suppose to seek the welfare of the people are not doing this. We want someone like Francis Owusu Akyaw to lead the party in Juaben”, some delegates told Opemsuo.com pledging their unflinching support to Mr. Francis Owusu Akyaw described as a philanthropist.
Mr. Francis Owusu Akyaw also the party’s Constituency Vice earlier had told journalists his reason to become MP is to help needy in the society.
The National Council of the governing New Patriotic Party is meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, June 3, 2020, to fix a date for the party’s parliamentary primaries in constituencies with sitting Members of Parliament (MPs).
The party had originally scheduled to elect its candidates in these constituencies on April 20, this year, but that had to be cancelled because of the ban on public gatherings and political activities to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The National Council, the highest decision-making body after Conference, according to a source, would discuss the modalities for the conduct of the elections.
The meeting comes on the heels of the phased easing of restrictions to re-open the country by President Akufo-Addo.
The President in his 10th address to the nation on the country’s COVID-19 situation, said some social gatherings – church services, conferences and meetings of not more 100 people, could be held.
