Improve Your Services to Visa Applicants; Foreign Ministry to Embassies

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has issued a Note Verbale to Embassies and High Commissions in Ghana, calling for a review of their service delivery to Ghanaian visa applicants.

In a statement, the Ministry said this was in response to the countless complaints received from applicants over unsatisfactory services that are rendered.

The complaints according to the Foreign Affairs Ministry cover lack of conducive waiting areas, non-availability of emergency services, long-waiting times for appointment dates as well as challenges in using visa application websites.

“To address these concerns, the Ministry has dispatched a Note Verbale to all Embassies and High Commissions urging them to put in place appropriate and humane conditions at their Embassies, High Commissions and visa centres.”

After this, the Ministry is hopeful that the Foreign Missions will respond positively and appropriately to the request.

However, it is bent on monitoring developments and taking steps to ensure the directive is adhered to by the Embassies and High Commissions.

It added, “The Ministry takes this opportunity to assure the public of its commitment to address the concerns of Ghanaian visa applicants.”
