Household Toilets Will End Open Defecation – Mr. Cyril Cudjoe Amudzi
The Deputy health officer of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Mr. Cyril Cudjoe Amudzi has said that as part of this year’s world toilet day, the household toilets project has been introduced to end open defecation.
The World Bank and the Government of Ghana through the Ministry of Sanitation have taken it upon themselves to make toilet facilities accessible to every household.
World Toilet Day celebrates toilets and raises awareness of the 3.6 billion people living without access to safely managed sanitation.
19 November is the set day for the celebration globally.
Deputy health officer in an interview on Opemsuo radio’s Morning shows Nkwantananso yesterday, November 17 outlined the plans put in place to help make it possible.
According to him, the project is aimed at constructing 33,000 toilet facilities within 8 municipal Assemblies purposely for the urban poor.
