The Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) has decided that teacher trainees will, from May 9, 2022, provide meals for themselves.
This is due to the government’s failure to release the feeding allowance of the trainees leading to the inability of the colleges to pay food suppliers.
The message was contained in the letter to the Minister of Education, Yaw Osei Adutwum.
Ahead of May 9, PRINCOF says it will provide trainees with breakfast and supper only from April 23 to April 30.
From May 1 to May 8 however, the trainees will be given lunch only.
This will remain until the government pays the feeding allowance, PRINCOF said in a statement.
