Gov’t Announces Limited Teachers Recruitment into SHS
The government has announced a drive to recruit new teachers into Senior High Schools (SHS) across the country.
The recruitment will be a limited exercise, the Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum announced in a Facebook post.
He disclosed that it will commence in August.
“I’m pleased to announce that a limited recruitment drive for high school teachers will commence next week.”
Details about how to apply and the specific focus areas for the recruitment will be disseminated soon.
The Minister is scheduled for an address on the State of the country’s Education sector today at the Accra International Conference Center where he is expected to cover key developments, achievements, and plans in the education sector.
It is expected that more details about the limited recruitment will be provided at his address.
It comes after the Ghana Education Service (GES) commenced recruitment for 12,784 applicants from the first batch of Colleges of Education degree holders through the self-placement module.
The module allows graduates to select their preferred region, district, and school for their posting via the GES portal (https://www.gespromotions.gov.gh).
The exercise will end on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
