Give Us $3billion To Continue The ‘Good Policies’; Dafeamekpor Sarcastically Replies IMF Boss
Member of Parliament for South Dayi Constituency, Nelson Rockson Dafeamekpor has faulted the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva for blaming external factors for the economic woes of Ghana.
Addressing a press, the IMF boss said the economic crisis in which Ghana finds itself is a result of the Russia-Ukraine war and the COVID-19 pandemic.
She, however, ruled out bad policies.
“Like everybody on this planet, you have been hurt by exogenous shocks. First the pandemic then the Russia-Ukraine war and what we need to realise is we need to realise it’s not because of bad policies in the country but because of this combination of shocks”, she said.
Reacting to this, the legislator sarcastically agreed with her and encouraged the Fund to immediately grant the 3 billion dollars the government needs.
“Of course, Madam IMF. We’re here because of the Extremely Good Economic Policies of Nana Addo & Bawumia Govt. Just give us the $3b as a grant to continue these good policies”, he tweeted.
