Presenting the new consignment to the Ministry of Health, the US Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Stephanie Sullivan entreated Ghanaians to get inoculated.

“Please don’t wait, getting your jabs now will protect you, your family members, and your community from serious illness, ” she charged Ghanaians.

Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ghana, H.E. Tom Norring on the other hand explained the need to vaccinate all Ghanaians with the statement, “nobody is safe before everyone is safe”. He urged all Ghanaians to take advantage of this opportunity.

Receiving the vaccines was Mr. Mathew Kyeremeh, Chairman of the Commodity Group for COVID-19 who expressed profound gratitude to the donors for their support of Ghana’s quest to vaccinate all Ghanaians.

He also disclosed that the Government of Ghana has not had the policy of encouraging boosters yet, adding, “ boosters are not on the card as we speak, we want to ensure that 20 million of the Ghanaian population we anticipated to be vaccinated is achieved before we move on to boosters”, he said.

Ghana has declared December 2021 as a vaccination month, seeking to reach its aim of vaccinating 20 million of the country’s adult population before the end of the year.
