Ghana Parts Ways With Bureaucracy

Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has launched a digital platform by which public services can be simply and easily accessed and paid for, without joining queues.
The Vice President launched Ghana.Gov at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, 14th July, 2021 and said a revenue of Ghc3 billion will be accrued annually through this new platform.
Ghana.Gov will enable citizens to easily access government services, simplify payments for public services, ensure prompt payments for the services and promote transparency and visibility of internally generated funds.
At the launch, Dr. Bawumia said “the hustle of joining long queues and hopping from office to office just to make a payment for government service will soon become a thing of the past.”
In a Facebook post, the Vice President added that accessing the platform through www.ghana.gov.gh or shortcode *222# on any mobile phone will make it easy for everyone to find and pay for government services with the use of mobile money, bank cards, the new GHQR code, the fintech apps on our phones or at any bank branch.
The Vice President also commended the efforts of masterminds behind the great invention in the country.
“I am excited that once again we did not have to go beyond our shores to develop and manage a platform to address a local challenge. Indeed, the spirit of collaboration and innovation exhibited by the local technology companies ( Hubtel, expresspay and IT Consortium) is worth commending” he posted.
