G-Met Discredits Prediction Of Heavy Storm Tonight

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (G-Met) has discredited information circulating on social media to the effect that Ghana will witness a “nasty” and “heavy” storm tonight.

The “fake” information read “The Ghana Meteorolgical Service has warned of a heavy storm approaching Ghana tonight. It is going to be strong and nasty. People are advised to go home early, stay indoors and keep safe. Please inform others as you receive this information to save others”.

Reacting to this, G-Met indicated that the information is false and “does not emanate from the forecast office”.

It urged the public to look up for weather forecasts from its social media handles.

“Our attention has been drawn to an information making rounds on social media. The info does not emanate from the forecast office and the content is completely FALSE. Kindly disregard the message and keep following us for regular updates”, G-Met posted on Twitter.
