Fuel Tanker Drivers Call Off Strike

Fuel tanker drivers including Gas Tanker Drivers and Petrol Tanker Unions, have called off their strike action.

The drivers declared an industrial action on August 1, 2022, over “poor working conditions and unfair treatment of drivers by BOST and NPA, which stems from the continuous ban on LPG Stations under construction since 2017”.

The decision to call off the strike comes after the Cabinet agreed to lift a ban on the construction of stranded LPG filling stations.

“Together with the NPA, we resolved to take immediate steps to resolve the operational challenges with the Electronic Cargo Tracking System (ECTS)”.

Meanwhile, the stakeholders will be holding a meeting on August 8, 2022.

The LGP marketing Companies, Ghana LGP Operators Association, Ghana National Petroleum Tankers Union, Bulk Tanker Drivers Union and their allies declared industrial action.
