Former Health Minister Refutes Theft Allegation
The former Minister for Health, Dr Bernard Okoe Boye has refuted accusations of theft levelled against him in a viral video.
The special aide to the former Ledzokuku constituency MP, Samuel Kofi Yeboah, in a statement said the allegations are “entirely false, baseless, and aimed at misleading the public.”
He therefore urged the public to disregard the allegation.
“We urge the public to disregard these unfounded allegations and remain assured that the Ghana Police Service is actively investigating the matter to ensure justice is served. Dr. Okoe Boye remains dedicated to serving the community and Ghana with integrity, transparency, and an unwavering commitment to public service.”
He explained that a group of National Democratic Congress (NDC) affiliated individuals stormed the residence of Dr Okoe Boye under the guise of Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) authorization.
“They forcefully gained entry, vandalized the premises, and unlawfully removed various items including Dr Okoe Boye’s personal clothes, furniture, Oil, boxes of books written by Dr Okoe Boye, motorbikes etc.”
He noted that despite the intervention of the police to halt the raid, the perpetrators, including two police officers in civilian clothing from the Teshie police command, resisted efforts to halt their actions.
