Fire Ravages Labone SHS Girls Dormitories

Fire has destroyed three girls’ dormitories and their content at Labone Senior High School, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has announced.
According to ADO Alex King Nartey, a member of the GNFS Public Relations Department, the fire incident on March 16 started while students were at prep.
There were therefore no casualties.
He said firefighters from the National Headquarters responded to the fire that started at 1 pm, confined it and successfully doused the flames.
“When we arrived, we discovered the girls’ dormitory—specifically the new building—was on fire. Out of the six dormitories on the top floor, three were affected; one was completely destroyed, while the other two sustained partial damage,” he said.
The cause of the fire is however yet to be determined.
