FA Charges Ronaldo For “Smashing” Phone Of Autistic Boy In April

The Football Association (FA) has charged Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo for his action against an autistic teenager after his team’s defeat in a match with Everton in April 2022.

The player has been charged with breach of FA Rule E3 regarding “Comments which are improper, which bring the game into disrepute, which are threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting”.

According to the Association, the player’s “conduct after the final whistle was improper and/or violent.”

In reaction to this Manchester United says it “will be supporting the player in response to the charge”.

After the 1-0 defeat for United at Goodison Park in April, Ronaldo appeared to smash an autistic boy’s phone to the floor as he walked off the field.
