Emmanuel Agyekum has brought about gender equilibrium after emerging as the Kwadaso Community winner at the community stage of the Otumfuo Community Reading Challenge.
Until his victory on April 19, the community stage had more females than males.
As of Thursday, April 14, Henry Dwight Yorke, Michael Asuako, and Davis Amankona were the male champions against four ladies.
Emmanuel,14, is a student of the Patasi M/A JHS.
His prizes included but were not limited to a five hundred cedis cash from Konahene Nana Konadu Yiadom IV as part of his GHc30, 000 cash prize to all community stage Champions.
His school, the Patasi M/A JHS, also received Ghc500 from Tredehene Nana Nuben Sra III as part of his Ghc30, 000 cash prize to schools of community champions.
The competition now has eight community champions including, Maame Asarewaa Adu Gyamfi, the Nkawie Champion, Henry Dwight Yorke, the Abuakwa champion, and Michael Asuako, the Tanoso Champion,
The rest are Mary Afriyie Manu, the Nyankyerenease champion, Stansy Akua Karikari, the Asuoyeboah Community Champion, Davis Amankona, the Atwima-Techiman community champion, and Joyceline Owusu, the Twedie community Champion.
The OCRC team is now scouting for fifty-two more community champions to make it to the Knock-out Stage.
