Ellembelle Missing Excavators: 5 Chinese Arrested

The police in the Western region have arrested five Chinese nationals over the two missing excavators at Ellembelle in the Western region.

They were arrested during a night-long operation according to the Ghana Police Service.

“The Police have arrested five Chinese suspects in a special police operation conducted between the night of 7th September till the dawn of 8th September 2022”, the police said in a statement.

Details over their arrest are yet to be disseminated by the police.

Two excavators in the Ellembelle district assembly were reported missing last week.

In the course of police investigations, one of them was found in a forest, the police said in a statement on September 7, 2022.

Following this, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the Assembly, Kwasi Bonzo together with three others got arrested for trying to obstruct the police from conveying the excavator to Takoradi.
