I Owe What I Am To Otumfuo- Most Respected CEO

Ghana’s Most Respected Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Youth Development, Hon. Andy Okrah, has credited the success in his life to the King of the Asante kingdom, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

At the Manhyia Palace on Wednesday, December 20, the Director of the Forestry Commission Training Center (FCTC) and the Founder and Executive Director of Young Professionals and Youth Coalition (YPYC) said Otumfuo financed his education at a time he needed it most.

He stated that he owes his success to the King.

“I get passionate and emotional at times like this because I am who I am because of my lord. I wouldn’t be here without him. After graduating from Tech, he asked me the way forward and informed him I wanted to further and he decided to sponsor it. With his own money, he paid for me to read my Master’s Degree in London. He wrote a cheque for me for two years.”

As a way of showing his gratitude, Mr Okrah who was named this year as one of Africa’s Most Impactful Change Makers said he featured Otumfuo in his book titled “You Are A Leader”.

“I use this book to show my gratitude to him.”

The book, whose foreword was authored by Dr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas, was launched earlier this year.

He presented a copy of the book to the King, explaining, “The book is titled, ‘You are a Leader’. Otumfuo is one of the epitome of leadership that was used in the book.”

Mr Okrah was named “Ghana’s Most Respected CEO in Youth Development” Award at the 6th edition of the Ghana Industry CEO Awards this year.

He has also been named among 100 Africa’s Most Impactful Change Makers at the 2022 edition of the Humanitarian Global Awards.

He is the Founder and Executive Director of the Young Professionals and Youth Coalition (YPYC) which is a network that seeks to connect and engage young professionals and the youth in discussions of national affairs, emphasizing the importance of national development and leading the nation’s strategic agenda.

Also a politician, he was appointed Minister of State by former former President John Dramani Mahama.
