Ejura To Hold Islamic Prayers For Victims Of The Ejura Riot
Families of the young men who fell during the Ejura riot in June 2021 will hold Islamic prayers for the deceased, it has been announced.
The dua’a’ prayer will be conducted in collaboration with the FixTheCountry group on Thursday, June 30, 2022.
They will be remembering the death of two persons- Abdul Nassir Yussif and Mutala Mohammed Siraji- who died in the course of a clash between some irate youth and security men while the former were protesting over the death of activist Ibrahim Mohammed known as Kaaka.
The protest was sparked by allegations that he died as a result of his activism.
The prayer will be held in the memory of Kaaka as well.
The FixTheCountry group says the event will entail cleaning the cemetery where the three individuals are buried starting from 6 a.m. and a Quran recital and prayer events starting from 10 am.
In relation to this, the group is raising funds in support of the event.
The objective is to raise GHC10,000 to fund the event and then donate the rest to the families.
