The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) is hopeful that the challenge customers are facing in the purchase of electricity credit will get resolved today, October 3, 2022.

At a press conference, the ECG said it has resolved challenges in most of the areas which were affected.

It, however, singled out the Ashanti region.

“The company will like all its customers to also know that most vending stations are up and running. I used most because we still have a few challenges in the Ashanti region that we are working on.

It is hopeful that it will be resolved by the close of today.

“Hopefully, by the close of day today, it will be resolved.”

It also apologised for the inconvenience caused.

”I would like to apologise to all customers of the Electricity Company of Ghana who attempted to purchase power and they were not able to purchase power, the company admits its fault, the company admits that it was not able to deliver on the service.”

Last week, ECG customers in Accra, Kumasi, Volta, Takoradi, Tema, Cape Coast, Kasoa, Winneba, Swedru, Koforidua, Nkawkaw and Tafo reported challenges in purchasing electricity credits from various points including ECG offices across the country.

The challenge was partially resolved on Friday in some areas leading to the influx of customers at ECG offices to purchase credit.

The ECG had to extend their services to Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2, from 9 am to 4 pm due to the high demand.
