50 Provisional Players Selected For Kotoko U17 Team

The Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have announced the selection of 50 provisional young football players across Kumasi in a move to commence the much-anticipated youth team to unearth the next generation of the club’s talents.

The announcement was made by the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the club on Sunday, April 28, 2024.

“The management of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club is pleased to inform the sporting community and its stakeholders that it has concluded scouting for some talented young players in the various communities in Kumasi to commence our U-17 Youth Team process.”

The Management is looking forward to maintaining only half of the current number of players after a one-week training session, it said.

A process to trim down the number will begin on Monday, April 29, 2024, at 3 pm, it announced.

“Fifty players were scouted by the youth team coaches during the selection process. However, the number will be trimmed down to twenty-five to form the youth setup after conducting a one-week training session with the players at the Adako Jachie training centre.”

The statement said the move is aimed at creating a viable and reliable team that can be transitioned into the main team in the next two years.
