The Presidential Advisor on Health, Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare on the World Kidney Day, at a Public Lecture on kidney Disease awareness organised by the Ghana Kidney Association (GKA), stole a moment to urge Ghanaians to take the Covid-19 vaccine.

He noted that the viral disease still exists but has been overshadowed by news about the Russian-Ukraine war.

He urged the audience who were predominately students to avail themselves for the jab.

“The figures are low but it’s now time to go and have your vaccination. All of you are qualified”, he stated

He then bargained that he would advise President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo to withdraw the compulsory mask-wearing directive in public places if covid-19 vaccines are taken.

Addressing issues in relation to the Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), Dr. Nsiah-Asare added that the prevalence of CKD is expected to rise in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
