Commission For Technical And Vocational Educational Training (CTVET) Launched

The Minister for Education, Yaw Osei Adutwum has officially launched the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) today, April 12.

The event took place at the Adako Jachie Campus of the Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) in the Ashanti Region.

Yaw Adutwum said the new commission has an eleven-member governing board that supervises the work of the commission and is headed by a Director-General and two deputies.

It will undertake accreditation, assessment and certification, standards, curriculum development, and enforcement, and is made up of the Policy Planning, Project Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation departments

“The Standing Committee of the commission are National TVET Qualification Committee, Quality Assurance Committee, Ghana Skill Development Fund committee, and Enforcement Committee”, he outlined.

Yaw Adutwum noted that he aspires to promote TVET till it becomes the preferred choice among Ghanaian youth.
