Colleges Of Education Non-Teaching Staff Association Readies For Industrial Action

The Colleges of Education Non-Teaching Staff Association of Ghana has slated Monday, April 11, 2022, for an industrial action.

The strike will reflect in all forty-six (46) Colleges of Education across the country.

Among the grievances of the association are, wrong placement of First Degree Holders, Non-payment of migration arrears, exclusion of payment of Generic allowances, partial payment of office Holding allowances, and non-payment of Interim Market Premium arrears.

“The decision to embark on strike had been necessitated by the continuous disregard for the above issues affecting the welfare of our members.”

The association says the government has shown no commitment to getting their grievances addressed after the National Labour Commission (NLC) staved off an earlier move to embark on strike in January 2022.

“The date given by the NLC for the government team to address the concerns raised had elapsed but no tangible solution had been professed.”

All classes of the association except for the security class will embark on the strike.
