Coalition of Concerned University Students To Protest On Feb. 8

The Coalition of Concerned University Students (CoCUS) is set for a planned protest tomorrow, February 8, 2022, following the postponement of the protest by the Ghana Police Service from February 3.

The police in a statement last week, directed the CoCUS to reschedule the protest due to the February 3 Extraordinary Summit of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The group of university students are calling on the government to grant the demands of their lecturers who are currently on strike demanding better conditions of service.

The students will converge at the University of Ghana campus and march out at exactly 9 a.m. They are expected to hand over a petition to the presidency and a copy to parliament.

The group says it has secured approval from the regional police command.

They have therefore called on all students to join the “train” when they express their grievances to this government.
