CHURCH RENDERS APOLOGY TO THE MEDIA

The Glorious Word Power Ministries International, headed by Reverend Owusu Bempah, has rendered an unqualified apology to media personnel they abused at court premises.
The heckling of journalists at the Accra Circuit Court transpired on Monday 13th September 2021 when the pastor was arraigned before the court.
Some church members attacked media personnel from Angel TV and Daily Guide physically and verbally and also prevented the media from entering the courtroom.
The Church has condemned the act and noted that the actions of the said persons were not sanctioned by the Church.
“We plead with the affected media organizations and journalists to kindly accept our apology”, the church issued in a statement.
The police had earlier issued a similar statement of apology to the media for turning blind eye to the actions of the members of the church on the said date and assured to launch an investigation into the matter.
The Head Pastor was arrested on Sunday and arraigned before court on Monday together with some members of his church for brandishing weapons and issuing death threats at a ‘repented’ fetish priestess, Nana Agradaa, and assaulting police officers.

They were denied bail, charged with threat of life, offensive conduct to the breach of peace, and assault of police officers, and remanded into police custody.
Reverend Owusu Bempah, was said to have been rushed to the Police Hospital after falling ill on Monday where he spent about two hours and was then sent back into a police cell.
He was granted bail to the tune of GHS200,000 on health grounds with two sureties on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, after an appeal at the Accra High Court.
