“I try to work harder as a lazy person” – KMA Transport Director confesses

The Transport Director of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Mr. Randy Wilson claims his outfit has put enough measures in place to solve every transport issue facing the people in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi.
“Because I am lazy but I work hard to ensure that whatever I do is perfect and so after leaving office, nobody will have cause to complain”, the Government Official expressed in words on Manhyia-based Opemsuo FM morning show hosted by George Opoku Mensah.
The office of the Transport Department has come under severe fault-finding following both human and vehicular traffic in the Central Business District of Adum as many are calling for the head of Mr. Randy Wilson as Departmental Head of Transport.
Speaking to the development on Nkwantananso show, Mr. Randy Wilson called the bluff of those laying blame on his doorsteps claiming clean hands on the allegations levelled against his public persona and other KMA staff.
“I have done enough to engage all the leadership of the  transport unions to see the way forward. I have not slept on my job . The Mayor has  also taken steps to resolve transport issues in the Metropolis”, he stated.
Kumasi’s congested trading hubs continue to attract transport operators who cause massive vehicular traffic largely due to acts of indiscipline.
The development has made it difficult for people to observe the social distancing protocol to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
The KMA wants to limit the number of trotro and taxis entering and loading at designated points.
The Assembly, in collaboration with transport unions, has designed special stickers to identify commercial vehicles permitted to operate in the city centre at any given time.
Drivers are expected to display the stickers designating them to ply specific routes.
