Buabeng Asamoah: Mahama To Repeal E-Levy Only A Scam
Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Buabeng Asamoah has said that, former President Mahama’s comment on repealing E-Levy is only a scam.
According to him, Mr. Mahama does not have the authority to address Ghanaians, he is only a former president with the interest of contesting the elections who hasn’t been voted for yet. He said, Mr. Mahama is only vowing pledges he cannot redeem to gain favour in the face of Ghanaians.
Mr. Buabeng Asamoah reiterated that, the former president is capitalizing on the current controversies surrounding the E-Levy to gain favour from Ghanaians forgetting that the E-Levy will surely succeed.
“The success of the E-levy wouldn’t attract incoming governments or NDC governments to repeal it irrespective of whoever shall lead as the president including John Mahama because the E-levy shall not be reckoned useless or inflicting hardship but needful”.
He added that, similar taxes initiated by the NPP governments such as the ‘One Time Premium’, ‘Talk Tax’ and others attracted heavy criticisms from the NDC with the claim that those taxes shall be repealed which didn’t happen but rather saw increment in value. This is a clear indication that, John Mahama and his NDC party are only deceiving Ghanaians.
