The Bank Of Ghana in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service has cracked down on people involved in foreign currency exchange in the country.
It is known that these people engaged in the black market are part of the reasons the cedi continues to depreciate to the dollar.
To curb this situation and cease fraud and scams in the country, the Forex bureau office of the Bank of Ghana has arrested seven-six people in various parts of Accra.
Culprits are in police custody and will be sent to court after further investigation.
The Forex Bureau office of the Bank of Ghana makes it known to the general public that it is unlawful to operate as a foreign exchange dealer without a license as stated by the Trading and Foreign Exchange Act 206 Acts 723 of the Constitution.
