Kotoko Mark Fourth Consecutive Win After Berekum Chelsea Clash

The Asante Kotoko Sporting Club nailed Berekum Chelsea at home on Monday to record their fourth back-to-back win in all competitions this season.

This follows their challenging opening at the start this season.

They pipped the Champions 1-0 on November 19, Legon Cities 3-1 on November 25, Nations FC 3-2 on November 28 in the MTN FA Cup before their 1-0 victory against Berekum Chelsea on December 4.

A sole goal by Steven Mukwala in the first half decided the game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The Ugandan striker who is eyeing the Goal King award this season registered his fourth goal in the club’s last three wins in the 41st minute.

The win has sent Kotoko to the 7th place on the league log with 19 points, behind Berekum Chelsea who hold 20 points.

In an interview with Star Times, Mukwala who won the Man of The Match Award expressed his joy saying “I feel so delighted. I’ve scored and my team wins…Our ambition as striker is to create and score so if I create and score then it’s a plus for me.”

The striker who netted 11 goals last season for Kotoko envisions more goals this season.

The Porcupines will next face their arch-rivals, Hearts of Oak in Kumasi this Sunday.
