Atwima Techiman: Residents Demand Their Electricity Bills
Residents in the Atwima Techiman community in the Ashanti Region are calling on the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to as a matter of urgency issue them with electricity bills.
According to them, the community got technical problems in their lighting system for which reason they have not been issued with utility bills in the last five months since they had the challenge.
Since January, some of them have had their power disconnected and therefore have no lights in their homes while others are tapping power from their neighbours. They complained that power outages have also damaged their home appliances.
In an interview with Opemsuo radio reporter, Adwoa Serwaa Yonkodo they said: “as good citizens, we don’t intend to use the lights illegally without paying the bills and for that matter, ECG should as a matter of urgency issue us with bills”.
