Asaman Tamfoe Robbery: 1 More Suspect Arrested
The police in the Eastern Region have arrested one more person in connection with a robbery incident at Asaman Tamfoe in the region in May this year.
The suspect identified as Yahaya Adama was arrested at his residence in the Eastern region according to a police report.
The robbery incident happened on May 27, 2022, at Asaman Tamfoe.
According to the Ghana Police Service, seven robbers attacked a gold-buying company in the town, shot and killed two persons at the scene and robbed the company of over GH₵ 100,000.00.
Four of the suspects were arrested between June and August.
“Suspect Moro Saado was arrested on June 3, 2022, in Kumasi, suspect Aliu Ousmanu who shot the security man was arrested on June 14 at Akanten, near Asesewa in the Eastern Region, Elvis Kwaasie was arrested on June 15 at Asaman Tamfoe and Issaka Abdul alias Baba Liman was arrested at Sofoline, Kumasi on August 2”, the police said in a statement in August.
The recently arrested suspect is believed to be the mastermind behind the robbery.
“Suspect Yahaya Adama, believed to be the mastermind of the robbery, was arrested at his residence at Akwaboaso in the Eastern Region. He admitted haven received GH₵ 11,000.00 out of the booty.”
The police say they are poised to arrest the remaining two suspects.
