AKenten Appiah-Menkah University of Skills Training And Entrepreneurial Development SRC Donates To Remar Children’s Home

Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of Akenten Appiah-Menkah University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), Kumasi has donated different kind of items to Remar Ghana Children’s home at Patasi as part of their Easter celebrations.

The items included bags of rice, sugar, cooking oil, packs of toilet-rolls, soft drinks, bags of sachet water, boxes of biscuits, bags of washing powder worth thousands of Ghana cedis.

The President of the Student’ Representative Council (SRC), Richard Opoku (Omega) said the donation forms part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to support the underprivileged in the society.

He noted that as a student body whose major concern is about welfare, it was essential for them to visit the kids especially in a time we are celebrating the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

He underscored that Jesus Christ exhibited His unalloyed love for mankind through his death, and as Christians or believers, it is always prudent to acknowledge such a special day with such a benevolent effort.

Receiving the items, the Accountant and Administrator of Remar Ghana Christian Rehabilitation Centre, Victor Avorgbedor expressed his infinite gratitude to the student body for their thoughtfulness and kind gesture even as students.

Mr. Victor Avorgbedor used the opportunity to call other corporate organisations and philanthropists to emulate what the students have done as part of their support to the less privileged.

Remar Ghana was established in 1994 as a Christian charitable centre for rehabilitation of the marginalized working specifically towards their reinsertion into society.

The centre offer help to drug addicts, drunkards, prostitutes, orphans, street/truant children, prisoners and the marginalized to find a better life.

Remar Ghana have branches in the following localities, Kumasi, Takoradi, Ho, Sunyani, Tamale, Tema, Nsawam, North Kaneshie with Dansoman as their Head Office.
