Africa Education Watch Stands It’s Grounds On WAEC-Question Leakage.

Programs Officer for Africa Education Watch, Mr. Kwasi Nimo has expressed surprise at the West African Examination Council’s (WAEC) claim that examination questions did not leak during the 2020 West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) despite legal threat.
In an interview with a local radio station,
Mr. Nimo noted that the publication was not poised at discrediting WAEC.
“We did not publish the report because we hate WAEC but we have seen a lot of irregularities and malpractices in our assessment. It has been happening for a very long time. People look down on our examination result. We want to change. The Minister for Education has said he wants reforms in our assessment.”
“During the leakages of WASSCE 2020 questions (which WAEC is denying), the Education Minister condemned it and was published in various papers. Yesterday, Mr. Agnes Teye-Cudjo said no examination question leaked. I don’t know why she said that.”
“We were all here during the 2020 examination, they issued a released conceding that Core Mathematics paper II leaked after we presented some evidences.”
“With the exception of two subjects, all the questions leaked, not just that but also contacts of a thousand five hundred and twenty WAEC examiners. WAEC organized a press conference and told us they have over twenty thousand examiners and weren’t going to engage with their contacts published.”
He also refuted claims that Africa Education Watch did not engage WAEC in any way.
“On 11th June, before we launched our report on 15th June, we sent copies of our final draft to the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service (GES) and WAEC. They in turn confirmed receipt of the reports.”
