Ablakwa Calls For Probe Into Return Of Chinese “Galamsey” Queen

The Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has called for a full-scale investigation into the return of “deportee” Aisha Huang to Ghana.

In a Facebook post, Ablakwa said a lot of questions need to be answered over her supposed deportation and return.

The probe, he believes, must be done either by the Parliament or the Government.

“Government or preferably Parliament must immediately establish a full-scale independent enquiry into the entire chain of events.

“Was Aisha Huang truly deported?; If she was deported, what were the terms — what deal did our government make with their Chinese counterparts?; Why weren’t her biometric features shared with the intelligence community in the subregion to prevent her from using neighbouring countries as a launch pad and an entry point?; Who are her collaborators in “high places” as she couldn’t have pulled this off alone?

“Why is our government not protesting to the Chinese authorities for seemingly facilitating the atrocities of their nationals?; Who were the immigration officials on duty the day she allegedly re-entered Ghana?; and Why should those in charge of national security keep their jobs after this?”

Aisha Huang was arrested and reportedly deported to China in 2018 after she was arrested for engaging in illegal mining.

Her deportation was defended by the then Senior Minister of the president, Yaw Osafo Marfo to the effect that prosecuting and jailing her could interrupt the diplomatic relationship between Ghana and China.

She has been arrested in Ghana once again and remanded into police custody for mining without a licence and engaging in the sale and purchase of minerals without a valid licence.

Her presence in the country has raised many questions about the security situation at the country’s borders since she is reported to have entered the country through a land border.
