A/R: Five Interchanges To Be Constructed Next Year – Roads Ministry

The Ministry of Roads and Highways has reaffirmed President Akufo Addo’s government commitment to improving Kumasi’s inner-city roads.

Given this, the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Isaac Agyei Kwakye, has pledged that construction of all five Kumasi interchanges will commence in the first quarter of 2022, as promised by the NPP government, and has encouraged Ashanti Region residents to be patient.
According to him, Suame, Oforikrom, Ahodwo, Santasi, and Bekwai Roundabout, are the five interchanges.
He stated that five separate contractors will be working on the projects at the same time and that the government would disclose the funding sources at the appropriate time.

Speaking in an interview on Opemsuo radio, Mr. Isaac Agyei Kwakye stated categorically that the Atonsu Bosomtwe Road project will be completed in the second half of 2022 or early 2023.

“The present administration has extended the road construction duration term, explaining that formerly, contractors were required to take over their projects after one year of building, but this has now been extended to five years,” he said.

“Attempts are being made to repair the appalling status of the Kwabre roads, no government in history had built more roads in five years than President Akufo-administration” he added.
