Police ‘Kill’ Man Awaiting Second Appearance In Court
Two suspected armed robbers have been reported dead after a shootout ensued between the police and seven suspects in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region.
One of the deceased, whose name is only given as Lukeman was awaiting his second visit to the Dunkwa Circuit court on October, 27th 2021 after he was arrested for allegedly robbing passengers along the Dunkwa- Ayanfuri highway, the police said.
According to the police, seven suspected robbers stormed the home of a gold dealer in the Amansie South District and fired shots indiscriminately on September 24, 2021.
An anti-robbery task force of the police service which had mounted 24-hour surveillance on the gang in the area “returned fire to protect innocent lives in and around the property.”
One, Abraham Kwesi Tetteh was arrested by the police while four others, suspected to have sustained injuries succeeded in bolting away.
The two who were wounded were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
A short gun, a pistol, and a taxi cab were retrieved by police.
