Eugene Arhin, Director of Communication at the Presidency, has disclosed that the President has concluded the lists of Metropolitan, Municipal District Chief Executives.
The long-awaited list will be made public by the Minister for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, Hon. Dan Botwe after its submission to him today, 16th September 2021.
Nine months down the line, many have criticized the government for the delay in the appointment of MMDCEs and have blamed the poor performance of the various metropolitans, municipals, and districts on the President’s seeming inaction.
Speculations had indicated that the Alan-Bawumia factions caused the delay in the appointment.
Meanwhile, the President had directed the former Executive Officers to remain at the post till new appointments are made.
“List of MMDCE nominees finalized by President Akufo-Addo will be submitted in the morning to the Minister for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, Hon. Dan Botwe. Expect the list to be announced by the Minister very soon”, Mr. Arhin posted on Facebook.
