3 Arrested for An Armed Robbery Attack
The Asokwa Divisional Police Command has arrested 3 young men for engaging in armed robbery attack at Pramso in the Bosomtwe District of Ashanti Region.
The three suspects are: Ahmed Issaka, 23 years and a labourer; Richmond Amankwaah, 23-year-old trader; and Isaac Obi, 23-year-old barber.
Ashanti Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO), Ahianyo Godwin, stated that the 3 suspects on Monday 23rd August 2021 at about 7:30pm together with one who is currently at large armed with AK 47 assault rifle attacked a mobile money merchant at Pramso and robbed her of an amount of 18,000 Ghana cedis.
After robbing the merchant the robbers fired gun shots to ward off persons who attempted to arrest them.
“During an identification parade on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, the 3 suspects were identified by the victim and all are in Police custody assisting in investigation,” the Police PRO said.
When Police went to the crime scene, 3 empty shells of Ak 47 assault rifle was retrieved.
The Police believe that the 4th person on the run might have escaped with the AK 47 assault raffle
“The Police are making efforts to get him arrested so that they can be prosecuted together at the law court”, he said.
