Teachers Deserve Better Treatment – Students
The National Executive Council of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) has ordered members to cease all teaching and related activities on campus effective August 2nd 2021.
In a release the UTAG Leadership said, “ Members of the Association are asked to put down their instruments and refrain from teaching, invigilating exams, marking scripts and processing of results until further notice”.
Students of Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development, Kumasi, are, however, not enthused with the issue.
In an interview on Nkwantananso Opemsuo radio’s fastest-growing Morning Show on Monday, August 2, 2021, the students disclosed that they were supposed to start their end of semester examinations but there was no teacher around.
According to them, “They have well prepared towards their examinations and coming out with another date for the examination is a difficult thing to do because it will be in a rush”.
“Teachers deserve to be treated well so the Government should help us by providing their needs”, they pleaded.
