Otumfuo Charges COA Mixture Management To Adopt Technology And Research Methodology

Asantehene,Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has charged the management of COA Research and Manufacturing Company Limited to improve the use of technology and research on quality health delivery system.
In Ghana, medicines are imported for hospital use but there could be a boost in local production when an industry like COA is able to apply research and technological methodology in production to contribute towards the development of the state.
Otumfuo advised the management to instill stringent methods in production in order to avoid future occurrences with the Food and Drugs Authority,(FDA).
His Majesty said effective local production will bring to an end importation of medicines into the country for smooth development in the health sector.
He also pleaded with them to focus more on industry probity rather than income.
“…everyone is bound to fall sick, good health is important in the nation’s affairs and the country’s progress depends on good health.so if there’s a means for us to support local production then we ought to provide the needed support because currently medicines are imported into the country…”he said.
“I’m pleading with you to be cautious of the industrial work so that you do not encounter any mix up with the FDA as it happened before. Also focus on research to add more value to your product always. We don’t want money; money isn’t always important, branding is, because that will increase your customership and send your name far. Do more research and make use of technology that way we won’t need to import medicine into the country…” he added.
This came to light during the COA managements’ visit to Manhyia Palace to unveil their medicinal portion, COA Mixture to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
COA Mixture is a product registered with the FDA for general wellbeing and is also said to treat diseases like diabetes, hypertension and kidney failures.
The Board Chairman and the Omanhene of Abease Traditional Council, Dasebre Kwebu Ewusi, the First Deputy Chief Executive and the Obobumanhene Ekyempenhene, Nana Ofosuhene Apenteng and the 2nd Deputy Chief Executive Officer Princess Duncan together with other Board Members were present at the Palace to pay courtesy call on Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at Manhyia Palace.
