According to Ing. Poku Agyemang, of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), situations where by residents dispose refuse in streams and rivers are the main reasons for the endless flooding in the Metropolis.
“If you don’t stop all these practices, expect to see endless of flooding in your area”, the City Engineer pointed out on Manhyia-based Opemsuo FM morning show hosted by George Opoku Mensah.
Earlier, the Acting Ashanti Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) laid the blame on the doorstep of the city authorities so far as flooding in Kumasi is concerned.
