A/R: Regional Minister Commissions Team to Deal With Kejetia Filth

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon Frank Amoakohene, says he has taken steps to deal with the filth that has ravaged some critical sites in Kumasi.
Sanitation is one of the two key issues he has taken immediate steps to eradicate after extensively engaging the community and stakeholders in the past two weeks to find a remedy to issues affecting the Region.
In a Facebook post, he said a team has been commissioned to address it.
“Kejetia Sanitation and Kenkey Production Site Cleanliness: A team is commissioned to address the issues this morning.”
The other issues the Minister is seeking to combat are illegal Mining and protection of water bodies and forest reserves.
He said the King of the Asante Kingdom, Lands Minister, Defence Minister, Interior Minister and others have been consulted.
“We have also sought the wisdom and support of His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who has pledged his commitment to the renewed fight against illegal mining. Men are on grounds in this regard.”
